Eternal Patrol

We Remember Submariners produces an annual pin to remember the submariners who have sadly died during the previous year that the pin represents. It has mainly been the sale of these pins, together with other merchandise in the online shop, that provides WRS with the funds to supply 'Moly' pins to the family of any submariner, either serving or retired, who have crossed the bar, along with a wreath or a donation to a charity of the family’s choice, should they wish. In addition, those who are WRS members or are serving when they Cross the Bar, will be represented as a Gold Poppy on the following years pin. WRS also makes donations to other submarine related causes and these are judged on a case by case basis.

The pin year runs from the 1st January to the 31st December (of the preceding year) and the pin is produced early in the year so the pin can be ordered and be made available for despatch to WRS members; the pin typically goes on general sale in July of the year. This ensures that they are available in time to coincide with the Submariners Memorial on the Embankment (London) over the weekend before the November National Remembrance Ceremony at the Cenotaph. 

2026 celebrates the Royal Navy Submarine Service's 125th anniversary and to mark this special event the pins will become generally available from the 17th May 2026 in line with the Service and Gathering at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.
