The 2026 Memorial Pin memorialises those submariners who have Crossed the Bar over the period 1st January - 31st December 2025.
2026 celebrates the 125th anniversary of the Submarine Service and the 2026 pin commemorates this anniversary accordingly.
There was one submarine loss in 1926, HMS H29, sank in error when hatches were left open during trials in Devonport Dockyard. One crew member and 5 civilians perished in the accident.
WRS have been informed of 162 submariners "Crossing The Bar" in 2025 and are remembered by the number 162 on the pin of which 8 qualify for a Gold Poppy. The single fouled anchor is in memory of the "unknown submariner" and has been added this year for the first time in memory of those submariners who have Crossed the Bar but WRS have received no notification of their demise.
