The crown in the centre of the pin commemorates Queen Elizabeth's 70 years on the throne and the black banner represents her sad passing on 8th September 2022.
Between 1st January 2022 and 31st December 2022 there were 139 submariners that were reported to WRS as having crossed the bar. Of these, 8 qualify for a Gold Poppy.
