Leigh Dodds

Leigh is a proud military mum having both her sons in the forces: a Chief Petty Officer in Submarines and a Sergeant in the Royal Logistics Corp of the Army.

Married to the ever-patient Fabrizio who can always be seen carry boxes and erecting gazebos at various events.

Leigh has a history of volunteering and has been an active member of Girlguiding for almost 30 years. This has seen her appear on Blue Peter, perform on the stage of The Mayflower, host a Street Party for 500 where she lives (glad we aren't her neighbours!) and be part of a team running a large (1000 people) international camp in The New Forest.

She came to We Remember Submariners to help write the constitution and we haven't been able to get rid of her since! Being appointed a Trustee in 2021? It soon became apparent that Leigh was more of a hands-on person. So, the role of Event coordinator was created and since then we have been seen at Plymouth Armed Forces Day on Plymouth Hoe, HMS Collingwood open day and London Ceremonies. As We Remember Submariners is the lead organisation for The Submariner Memorial event at The National Arboretum, she heads up a team of volunteers to provide a fitting service and a celebratory lunch.
